Tired Yet Healing

It’s Monday, June 7th, 2021 and I am tired today.

Saturday June 5th and Sunday June 6th were the first 2 days of a 4 day online Conference Retreat spread over the first two weekends of June called The Morrigan’s Call Retreat. Generally, MCR is an in person, 3 day weekend camping, spiritual retreat dedicated to the Irish Goddess, The Morrigan. With the pandemic last year, the organization team quickly shifted gears and created an online retreat. It was continued online this year will the expectation of being back in person in June 2022.

Did I mention that I was tired?

I didn’t have to pack, travel, set up camp, run around the retreat site setting up Temple, Ritual, meals, teaching, on the spot counseling. There was no set up before meals, cleaning of the dining hall, dancing around the fire, processions through the woods, wading in the creek, cleaning up of the bathrooms, long hard good byes, or long travel back to my day to day life. Still, I am tired

Through Goddess intervention, sincere connection and an open willingness of all the facilitators and participants to dig deep within themselves and do the work- individually together; something truly magickal happened. We experienced nearly what it was like to be in person through an online portal called Zoom. We are all tired.

Morning Ritual with meditative inner self journey work with aspects of The Morrigan Herself. Meal Breaks of 90 minutes for lunch and dinner were staff guided, themed discussions related to the work of the day. Raven Tribe Time each evening where volunteers who had prepared together in advance lead participants through introduction through the original texts and experience through guided meditations in getting to know a single aspect of The Morrigan each day. Time was allotted for sharing of each participant’s experience to help them process the work and validate their experiences for those willing to share.

A private Facebook group monitored by event staff and volunteers to keep the vibe flowing and information easy to source and share.

Did I mention Blissfully Tired?

I’ve gone through the gambit of emotions this weekend. On camera I was calm and measured. Collected, guiding, reassuring. Off camera I crashed. I cried. I laughed with glee. I ate a lot of chocolate. On camera I gave 2 workshops centered on opening and participating in personal communication with The Morrigan as well as my personal experience of evolving my personal understanding of self with Her and coming to know Herself in my life.

Today, in the in-between of after the weekend but still in the middle of retreat my thoughts are deeply centered. As usual, I find myself translating my Spiritual language into Medical Experiencing to make it easier to comprehend and share perspective in hopes to answer the question, why so tired?

My thoughts wander into the territory of “we only heal when we sleep.” This is a proven fact when we are talking about our physical body. Maybe it’s relative to Emotional, Mental, and Spiritual healing as well. After all, it’s all connected.

Perhaps after a long weekend of digging deep within ourselves and willingly starting or continuing the work to heal what needs to heal and release what needs to be released so we can make room to grow and evolve and become… we need to rest for the healing to take. We need to rest for the healing to process. We need to rest so we are in the half dream state mind so we can continue to hear what we need to hear and see what we need to see through the veil of magick and spirit. Maybe The Morrigan has more to tell and show us and we are much more receptive when we are in a dream like, meditative state. Maybe. As I am saying this to myself and typing it out it rings true. For me at least. It sounds and feels familiar, like I already knew this and I’m just remembering it again. Often that’s how Goddess Whispers feel like to me. A memory that wasn’t but now it is- mine. A gift of knowledge. An experience.

I’m looking forward to continuing Her work and bringing Her community together this week. I am very much looking forward to two more days of live, if online, retreat with my Tribe in Her name. Next year’s Morrigan’s Call Retreat, when we can be in person at Camp again will be sublime and superb. This year’s is Magick in action. The Flow is tangible. I am grateful.

I am, though, still very, very tired. Have I mentioned?

May you find your rest to be healing and enlightening.
